Mission Statement

Alonna Johnson is a broadcast journalist currently based in Lansing, Michigan. 

​

Alonna is the state capitol reporter at FOX47 News in Lansing, Michigan.

Covers policy-based stories and add great storytelling with a  local perspective. 

She consistently delivers timely news under a deadline with proven record in live reporting. 

She attended the university of Cincinnati studying Philosophy and Media Production with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. 
During her collegiate studies at UC, she was a contributor to the student paper, The News Record, as well as the student media outlet, Bearcast Media. In both outlets, she was able to grow in the writer, videographer, and editor she is today. 
Alonna is a self described "people person" which she attributes to the reason why she wanted to be a journalist. 

"My job is to go to places I've never been, meet people I would otherwise never get the chance meet, and come back to tell their stories - to me, that is what makes this work so fascinating."
As a multimedia journalist, Alonna pitches, shoots, writes and edits her stories when she is not working alongside her team.
